Cricket Australia has unveiled its squads for the Pakistan ODI series and the white ball tour of Bangladesh. The action runs across May and June 2026. Moreover, the selectors have handed maiden call ups to three uncapped players. Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies are the new names in the mix.
Mitchell Marsh, currently in IPL action, will captain all three new look squads. Furthermore, the selectors have rested pace trio Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood for the tour. Veteran fast bowlers Billy Stanlake and Riley Meredith also return to the ODI fold.
Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies Earn Maiden Call-Ups
The selectors rewarded Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies for their strong domestic showings. Notably, Peake has earned a spot only in the Pakistan ODI squad. He recently captained Australia at the 2026 U19 World Cup and graduated to the Australia A side. Additionally, Scott features in both the Pakistan and Bangladesh ODI legs. He won the Sheffield Shield Player of the Year award in 2025/26.

Meanwhile, Davies made the Bangladesh T20I squad on the back of a stellar BBL season. He claimed the Most Valuable Player honour at the 2025/26 Big Bash League. Therefore, all three youngsters now sit on the brink of their international debuts.
Australia Rotate IPL-Bound Stars Between Pakistan and Bangladesh
Australia has planned a clear rotation between the Pakistan and Bangladesh legs. Travis Head, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis and Xavier Bartlett will join the squad for the Bangladesh ODIs. The quartet will arrive once their IPL Playoff commitments end. Consequently, this group replaces Peake, Stanlake, Meredith and Matt Short for the second half of the tour.
As a result, the selectors are clearly building depth ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. In contrast, Glenn Maxwell did not make the cut for the T20I squad. Maxwell recently retired from ODIs but stays active in T20Is. Chair of selectors George Bailey welcomed the mix. He said the blend of experienced and new faces offers the right balance for the subcontinent.
