NRRRL 2026 First Grade Points System

The NRRRL uses a standard rugby league competition points system to determine ladder positions throughout the season.

  • A win awards 2 competition points
  • A draw awards 1 competition point to each team
  • A loss awards 0 competition points
  • A bye awards 2 competition points when applicable
  • Competition officials may reschedule postponed or cancelled matches or record them as no result, depending on the competition rules.
  • The competition uses points differential (Points For minus Points Against) as the primary tiebreaker when two or more teams finish level on competition points.
  • If teams remain level on points differential, the competition may apply additional tiebreakers, such as head-to-head record or total Points For.

How the NRRRL 2026 First Grade Ladder Works

Each column in the standings table captures a different element of a team’s season record.

  • Played (P) is the total number of completed matches
  • Wins (W), Draws (D) and Losses (L) record match outcomes
  • Byes (B) track any rounds where a team did not have a scheduled opponent
  • Points For (F) is the total points a team has scored across all matches
  • Points Against (A) is the total points conceded
  • Points Difference (PD) is Points For minus Points Against, providing a measure of overall scoring dominance
  • Points (Pts) is the total competition points that determine ladder position

The NRRRL ladder tracks every club’s season across 14 teams in the Northern Rivers.
